The turf is also made from anti-porous polymers which repel pet urine. This therefore prevents any absorption and leaves your garden bacteria and odour free.
All of our grass is latex and lead free, meaning it’s hypoallergenic for pets. You can therefore rest assured that your pets will adapt easily to the grass with no risk of fevers or rashes.
Here are the key elements that make our grass pet friendly:
- Artificial grass backing: Instead of latex, we use an anti-absorbent PU backing which repels liquid.
- Sound drainage: This is crucial for pet owners as any waste must be able to drain away easily. We excavate to a depth of 3 inches and then fill the area with 20-40mm of crushed rock and a top layer of grano dust. (Always be sure that your installer does not use sand as a base as this absorbs pet urine and is extremely difficult to clean). The materials we use provide a sound drainage system for your grass.
- A strong base edge:The edging around your artificial turf should be plastic as wood rots and disintegrates over time. The edging should also be cemented in to ensure it provides a robust support for the grass. This prevents any edges from being dug up by your furry friends.

After your grass has been installed, it’s important that, as a pet owner, you clean it regularly. This will ensure that any pet waste is effectively washed away, leaving your garden clean and safe for your pets.
